This is a set of wheel thrown Pasta Bowls or “Blates” ( bowl + plate) which are essentially shallow bowls that are perfect for salads, pastas or stews. These Blates were thrown on the potters wheel using recycled clay scraps that were collected over time and re-hydrated then mixed, dried and re-wedged into workable clay and were glazes in a combination of opaque glazes.
These Blates are seconds due to glaze imperfections on the bottoms where some runoff has occurred. These imperfections are not visible unless the blate is turned over, however they have been accounted accordingly. Please see photos prior ton purchase.
These Blates were fired to a bisque temperature of approximately 1960*F glazed and fired again to 2160*F to create stoneware.
These blates are food, dishwasher and microwave safe.
