This is a wheel-thrown rainbow mug made out of a speckled cream stoneware with the phrase “Absolutely the Fuck Not” stamped into the clay and inlaid with black underglaze. A 22k gold letter “o” and “l” was added over the glaze that dripped covering the original letters.
Please note that this is a 100% handmade item from start to finish. Slight imperfections are normal and should be expected.
This mug was fired to a bisque (first firing) temperature of approximately 1960*F. After glazing, was fired again to 2160*F in an oxidation atmosphere to create stoneware. A third firing took place to allow the 22k gold luster to adhere to the mug.
