This is a set of wheel thrown"blates” ( bowl + plate) which are essentially shallow bowls that are perfect for salads, pastas or stews. These Blates were thrown on the potters wheel using a speckled light brown stoneware and glazed in clear on the outside to allow the natural clay body to beautifully contrast with the pastel “Sherbet” glaze on the interior.
This is a truly one of a kind set. Sturdy and rustic.
These Blates were fired to a bisque temperature of approximately 1960*F glazed, and fired again to 2160*F to create stoneware.
These blates are food, dishwasher and microwave safe.
