This is a wheel-thrown Iridescent mug with floral decals permanently adhered to the mug.
Made from a cream stoneware and glazed in an iridescent mother of pearl glaze. This mug is a second due to minor glazing imperfections where the glaze broke over the mug, exposing some of the clay as well as minor streaks in the iridescent topcoat.
This mug was fired to a bisque (first firing) temperature of approximately 1960*F. After glazing, was fired again to 2160*F in an oxidation atmosphere to create stoneware. A third firing of around 1,000*F occurred after applying the liquid luster top coating for adherence.
