PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING
By purchasing this membership agreement, you are agreeing to all bullets outlined below and are agreeing to allow working members to load unload your pieces on a regular basis. Our working members are highly trained but sometimes accidents can happen. The studio is not responsible for breakage or any other type of damage to your pieces whatsoever. You will not be refunded any portion of the membership fee under any circumstances once your pieces have been dropped off at the studio.
Please take note of the following:
- This is not a private firing. Your pieces do NOT get priority over other studio members work. If you have specific dates that you need your pieces finished by, it is your responsibility to manage your own schedule accordingly.
- Your pieces are being fired in a community kiln with other members and class work. We use advancer kiln shelves as well as cookies to prevent excessive dripping of glaze onto the shelves. If your pieces are heavily glazed, we will use the appropriately sized cookie.
- The studio is not responsible for missed show dates due to firing delays.
- The studio is not responsible for missing or damaged work.
- All pieces must have your makers mark on them or they may get lost/not be returned.
- Turnaround times are dependent on studio activity and time of year and will fluctuate through the year. Average turn around time is 2-3 weeks.
- The studio does not try and meet firing deadlines. You must rent a kiln for a private firing if you have a deadline. See listings for details.
- It is expected that you will use the appropriate clay body and glaze for the firing you are requesting. Your pieces MUST be completely bone dry, or they will not be fired until such a state is achieved.
- All glaze firings are to Cone 5 or 6 and should be selected on the intake form when your drop off. You must include the intake form otherwise your pieces will be fired to cone 5 by default.
