This is a set of wheel thrown"blates” ( bowl + plate) which are essentially shallow bowls that are perfect for salads, pastas or stews. These Blates were thrown on the potters wheel using recycled clay scraps that were collected over time and re-hydrated then mixed, dried and re-wedged into workable clay.
These Blates were fired to a bisque temperature of approximately 1960*F glazed and fired again to 2160*F to create stoneware.
These blates are food, dishwasher and microwave safe.
